We offer a free initial 30 minute consultation.

We charge £130 ex VAT per hour which is a fraction of the price charged by solicitors.

I would never have taken that final step had it not been for Dave's support, understanding and kindness. I trusted him instantly, he dealt with my whole divorce in a very professional and supportive manner, and managed the chaos I always bring to everything I do! From chatting to me in my loft space in August '25 to printing and posting off my final divorce papers in May '26! With his existential experience and knowledge, he guided me through every step and was a constant support whenever I needed. I first met Dave 15 months ago ,when my Son asked for help to have more time with with our Grandson.
4years ago our son lost a very complicated Family Court case.
After reading the case files Dave agreed to help him.
From the start Dave showed nothing but understanding and kindness, and was able to guide our son with all his paper work and through the Family Court proceedings that followed ,When in court our son could not manage to speak for himself so Dave was aloud to speak for him. Thanks to Dave our son left court with everything he asked for.

Dave was easy to contact using his website and responded in a prompt and professional manner.
He was able to come out to visit for appointments which was great to have that flexibility and was clear in what was required for the consent order to be completed.
He was patient and professional through out the process that had a few delays and obstacles.
Overall it was a positive experience in difficult circumstances and certainly would recommend using him for anything regarding divorce and finances.

I instructed David because of other reviews and I was not disappointed. The quality of his applications, written statements and analysis was incredible. I have used family solicitors before and David is just better. The one thing I was nervous about was speaking in court as he is a Mckenzie Friend so cant speak for me. I should not have worried. For each of my three hearings he worked with me to prepare a verbal summary to read to the judge. In court I answered the judges questions about things only I knew the answer to , but when legal questions came up I was able to ask Dave how to respond. The judges are fine with this. I cannot recommend David enough. Thank you for everything

Hi Nick I was very proud of how you spoke in court. Your confidence grew hearing by hearing. The family court is nothing like the criminal courts or how courts appear on TV as you discovered. it is much more supportive; no gowns or wigs! The Judge was patient with you, listened to you, and gave you time to speak to me in court when you needed help. What really worked too was that you were in control of what you said to the Judge but your ex wasn't. She used a solicitor who made several factual mistakes and one major gaff and you ex could do nothing about it as she had representation so could not speak in court to correct the solicitor. We got a great outcome and it was a real pleasure working with you. Stay in touch but I hope that we never have to meet again in a professional capacity!

I am beyond thrilled with my experience with Dave at Northern Family Law Support. With a divorce, I looked at options with solicitors and was dumbstruck and beaten by the fee's they were asking. In reality, i didn't need a solicitor, I needed a legal advisor to hold my hand through the whole process and tell me what to do. This isn't a service I could find anywhere else is my area?
Dave was incredibly reassuring and supportive throughout the whole process, especially me being on the autistic spectrum I struggled a lot with what to do. He listened to my story and advised me on the best way to proceed with my case. Me, my daughter and my family are incredible grateful for his help!
All this, and he is only a fraction of the cost of what a solicitor would have cost me. He is a legend and I will definitely recommend his services.

Dave sorted me out a really good deal on my divorce. He supported me in the negotiations , helped me do the form E and then all the papers at the end to send to through to the judge to get a final consent order.

David helped me out when I needed to get a Child Arrangements Order when I moved to a different part of the country. Me and my ex could not agree on a plan so he made the application for me, went to court with me and helped secure a new contact arrangement for me and my child.

I was in an abusive relationship. I was quoted thousands of pounds by a firm of solicitors to go to court to try and get protection. I couldnt afford this. David did the work with me for much less. He wrote the application with me, wrote my witness statement with me and came to court with me. I got the protection I needed. Recommend him. He is very understanding, friendly and writes very well.
